This little black dress is based on our designer’s sketch of a sleeveless sheath dress that softly follows the contours of the body. The material of the dress is lightweight, black wool crepe that is breathable and doesn’t crease. We added translucent silk-organza sleeves with wool crepe cuffs to the initial design. Each cuff closes with three beautiful vintage buttons. The bust darts start at the side seams of the bodice, and the skirt section is shaped with waist darts. The dress closes with an invisible zipper in the center-back seam and it has a light viscose lining. The pattern is also suitable for making more casual dresses for daily wear.
This jacket is made from boiled merino wool knit and is perfect for wearing between seasons as well as in cold winter weather. Boiled wool even gives protection from light rain because it repels moisture. The jacket has a loose cut, so it’s roomy enough for layering clothes. Both the body of the jacket and the sleeves have a slight tulip shape. The jacket is unlined. As boiled wool doesn’t fray, no seam finish is necessary. The beautiful stand-up collar, the pockets sewn in place by hand, the topstitched seams and edges, and the distinctive buttons give the jacket an elegant finished look.
Prepare yourself for winter days with warm clothes that also feel wonderful to wear. Wool is definitely the number one winter material! Its unparalleled properties make it comfortable in both warm and cold conditions. This dress, made from merino wool knit, looks fabulous and is sure to turn out to be your favorite dress for many winters to come. It has raglan sleeves, a gently flared skirt section and a beautifully shaped neckline. The raglan seams as well as the center-front and center-back seams of the skirt section are stitched with a serger rolled hem, and the neckline, hemline and bottom edges of the sleeves also have a rolled hem finish.
This fabulous graphic print gives this feminine dress a modern look. The fabric is breathable viscose single jersey that feels pleasant against the skin. The design has raglan sleeves and works well on most figures, and the bottom edges of the cropped sleeves are wide enough to feel comfortable. The special feature of the dress is the groups of pleats at the sides of the skirt section. The neckline is finished with a shaped facing.
This chic shirt is an updated version of a classic collared shirt. It pairs well both with viscose pants as pictured here and with jeans. The sleeves have extra-wide cuffs without buttons, and the cuff plackets are placed in the front parts of the sleeves. The beautiful V-neckline allows the collar to fall gracefully on the front. The shirt has side vents and its back hemline is slightly longer than the front. It closes with oblong buttons down the front. The material is brilliant-white cotton poplin with a slight stretch.
This bold-print jacket and pants set is a true autumn staple and was designed to accentuate our model’s personality. It’s sewn from lightweight printed viscose fabric with a good drape. The pants have straight wide legs and two elastic casings along the back waistband. The straight-cut jacket is a perfect option when you want to look elegant without compromising comfort. You can wear it over a jersey top, a rib knit turtleneck or even a collared shirt. It has side vents at the hemline and crocheted belt loops at the waist. You can leave the jacket open or tie it round your waist with the belt. This set would also be a great complement to your wardrobe if you made it in black and white or, to be ultra-trendy, entirely in solid color. These designs work for every occasion!
It's that time of the year again when we cozy up in warm and comfortable clothes and admire the color show that is slowly taking place outside. Now's the time to update our wardrobes for the upcoming autumn and winter - and luckily, our OTTOBRE design® woman 5/2022 has just been published!
In this issue we designed a beautiful capsule collection for the modern woman: a graphic jersey dress as well as a little black dress for the festive season, and a fabulous boiled merino wool jacket and an elegant merino dress - just to name a few! We used warm merino wool also in a light yet warm merino twin set. You can order the issue postage-free until 15 November 2022!
In order to make it easier for our readers to find and share the inspiration in social media, we will start using hashtags of each individual design. Just add #ottobredesign and the name of the design! For example this the hashtag for this gorgeous jacket on the front cover from boiled merino wool would be #ottobredesign_sugarswizzle, and the hashtag for the merino wool knit dress found on the back cover of the issue would be written as #ottobredesign_birchbark. We hope this will make browsing for inspiration easier in the future!
Besides pants, soft corduroy is an excellent material for jackets. It ages beautifully and gets better and better with washing. This jacket has a shirt-like design and features a collar with a stand and two-piece sleeves with cuffs. The two large patch pockets with flaps on the front are cut from gabardine and placed a little lower than chest pockets on a shirt.
The carrot-shape pants are sewn from twill-weave cotton gabardine. The pleats at the front provide an ease of movement and the legs are tapered. The T-shirt is made with our classic pattern CW 301, which you'll find in issue 1/2021.
