CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Alpaca garments love fresh air, so air them regularly. Remove small stains locally using a cloth moistened with diluted wool detergent, then rinse the cleaned area with lukewarm water.

Hand-knitted alpaca garments are best washed gently by hand in plenty of lukewarm water. Use a liquid detergent suitable for wool and silk. Rinse the garment gently, moving it lightly through the water. Do not rub or wring the garment.

The superfine alpaca yarn has undergone an enzyme treatment, which also allows for gentle machine washing on a wool cycle at a maximum temperature of 30°C / 86°F. Turn the garment inside out and place it in a laundry bag. Remove the garment from the washing machine immediately after the cycle has finished.

Remove excess water by laying the garment flat on a terry towel, rolling it up and gently pressing it. Reshape the garment to its correct dimensions and dry flat. Avoid heat and direct sunlight while drying. Do not spin. Do not tumble dry.

Alpaca Socks & More is a versatile 4-ply yarn spun from 70% superfine alpaca (fibre thickness 0.02 mm). The yarn has undergone a light enzyme treatment, making it soft, non-itchy and shape-retaining. Alpaca fibre is naturally gentle and kind to the skin, as it contains only very small amounts of lanolin. The polyamide added for strength makes the yarn durable and easy to care for, allowing it to withstand a gentle machine wash.

Alpaca Socks & More is the perfect yarn for knitting lightweight garments, whether you are making sweaters or cardigans, wool trousers, scarves or other accessories. Alpaca yarn is also an excellent choice for baby clothes and, of course – just as its name suggests – you can use it to knit warm socks for the whole family!

Alpaca Socks & More is particularly well suited to textured and lace knitting, as well as beautiful colourwork. Two 50 g balls are enough for a simple baby sweater or a pair of adult socks. For a long-sleeved women’s sweater in size M (EU 38/40), you will need approximately 500 g of yarn.
