DELIVERY
We deliver orders almost anywhere in the world. The average delivery time to Finland is 5–7 business days, to Scandinavia 6–8 business days, to the rest of Europe 7–14 business days, and to the rest of the world 7–30 business days. The orders are dispatched from Finland either as first-class letter mail or as parcels, depending on the size of the order. For logistic reasons, the order may be divided into several consignments, which may reach the customer at different times.
The webshop will calculate the delivery charges according to the size of the products ordered and according to the country of destination. Lana Grossa Brigitte Silkdream is a luxurious, lightweight knitting yarn that combines three precious natural fibers: 60% merino wool, 30% silk, and 10% mohair.
The core of the yarn is made of the finest merino wool, its beautiful sheen comes from mulberry silk, and its airy lightness from superkid mohair. The result is a silky-soft yarn with a subtle, matte glow that knits up beautifully. Silkdream’s color palette is soft and harmonious, making the yarn especially versatile. Each ball weighs 50 grams and contains approximately 270 meters of yarn. Even a small amount is enough to knit stunning and refined garments.
Brigitte Silkdream is a perfect choice for lightweight shawls, sweaters, and cardigans when you want to add a touch of everyday luxury. The yarn can be combined with other airy and fluffy yarns such as silk mohair, cashmere, or alpaca. It is suitable for both lace knitting and various textured stitch patterns. According to the manufacturer, approximately 300 grams (6–7 balls) is sufficient for a size 38–40 (EU) | M (U.S.) sweater. The yarn’s semi-solid dyeing gives it a subtle, lively depth. For the most even color result in larger single-color projects, we recommend alternating rows from two different balls.

WEIGHT & YARDAGE
Each ball weighs 50 g. and contains approximately 270 meters of yarn. The yarn is classified as light fingering weight (approx. 540 m / 100 g).
RECOMMENDED NEEDLE OR HOOK SIZE
The manufacturer recommends knitting according to Sport/DK weight instructions using 3.5–4.0 mm needles. In our opinion, thinner needles of 2.5–3.5 mm (EU) | 1.5–4 (US) better suit the fingering-weight character of the yarn. Knitting slightly more firmly will give the finished piece a beautiful drape and a soft, pleasant touch.
GAUGE
10 × 10 cm (EU) | 4 × 4 inches (US):
- 28–30 stitches and 34–36 rows using 2.5–3.5 mm (EU) | 1.5–4 (US) needles
- 23 stitches and 29 rows using 3.5–4.0 mm (EU) | 4–6 (US) needles (manufacturer’s recommendation)
We always recommend knitting a gauge swatch to ensure that your gauge matches the pattern requirements and that the finished garment is the correct size and drapes beautifully.
For a women’s long-sleeved sweater in size 38–40 (EU), you will need 6–7 balls of yarn. A simple knitted beanie requires 2 balls.
