ALVA FINE SILK is a high-quality wool-silk-cotton blend yarn for luxurious knitwear.

ALVA FINE SILK is a lightweight blended yarn with a lively texture, made from pure wool, cotton, and silk. The yarn comes in six beautiful summery shades, enhanced by the natural tone of the silk fibers, which gives the yarn an elegant melange effect. The yarn has excellent yardage and is suitable for both knitting and crochet. It looks especially beautiful in lace patterns and textured stitches. The yarn can be knitted single or double stranded, or combined with a fine fluffy yarn such as Katia Atenea (a wool-cotton-cashmere blend yarn). The yarn is certified according to the Öko-Tex 100 standard (18.0.41210 Hohenstein HTTI).

You can make tops, sweaters, cardigans, and shawls from ALVA FINE SILK yarn. Garments made from ALVA are lightweight and breathable. Half of the fiber content is wool, while the other half consists of silk and cotton, making the finished garments highly absorbent while still feeling pleasantly warm to wear. The yarn is also ideal for summer knits.

This is a special edition yarn, meaning that only a limited batch has been produced. It is available only while stocks last. The yarn was designed in Germany and manufactured in Turkey.

We recommend knitting or crocheting a gauge swatch to ensure the gauge matches the pattern requirements and that the finished garment will be the correct size.

For a short-sleeved sweater, you will need: 2 balls for a women’s size M (EU 38), 3 balls for a men’s size M/L (EU 52) and 1–2 balls for children’s sizes 116–152 cm (ages 5–12) (calculated when knitted with a single strand). 1 ball is enough for a large shawl.
