Maira, Allemagne / Suède

Pour marquer notre 20ème anniversaire nous avons annoncé une campagne internationale auprès de nos lectrices et lecteurs. Nous vous avons invité à partager votre histoire couture avec nous et avec toute la communauté OTTOBRE. Nous avons reçu une quantité étonnante de belles photos, d’histoires inspirantes et de messages d’encouragements de nos clients à travers le monde entier. Notre magazine ne serait rien sans notre joyeuse communauté et nous remercions chaque participant d’avoir partagé avec nous son histoire. Chaque participation parait dans sa langue d’origine mais nous avons écrit des résumés en français.

Maira a commencé la couture à 14 ans. Elle a acheté sa première édition d’OTTOBRE design® en Finlande lors d’une année d’échange puis elle a démarré une carrière dans la couture sur mesure et la mode en Allemagne. Plus tard, la vie et l’amour l’ont amené en Suède, elle y travaille comme patronnière et designer de tissus chez Elvelyckan design. Fin 2020, elle a participé à notre magazine pour la première fois lors que nous avons mis en vedette un de ses tissus dans l’édition OTTOBRE enfants 6/2020. Maira n’a pas pu faire un stage ni travailler chez nous mais nous sommes certains qu’elle fera de belles choses chez Elvelyckan design.

I loved looking through the OTTOBRE design magazines from my mother, when I was younger and started to make my first clothes when I was about 14 years old.

During my exchange year in Finland, I bought my first OTTOBRE magazine in Finnish. Around this time, I started to share my sewing journey on my Blog and on Instagram and found a lot of nice friends in the sewing community.

My dream was to become an internee at the Ottobre headquarter one day and to become part of this amazing magazine.

But after my exchange year I returned to Germany and started an apprenticeship in Stuttgart to become a custom tailor and fashion designer. I started to profess my hobby and passion.

After that life and love dragged me again into the north, this time to Sweden. I started to work as a pattern maker and fabric designer at Elvelyckan Design. And in the end of 2020 another dream came true when I saw my fabric that I designed, for Elvelyckan Design, in the Ottobre magazine 6/2020 and could become part of the magazine the first time.
